Myrczek & Schmidt Quintet ft. Krzysztof Herdzin, Ewa Bem, Aga Zaryan & AUKSO – Młynarski. Bynajmniej.
The unique program “Młynarski. Bynajmniej.” is a top-class musical feast – a meeting of jazz and the words of one of the most important poets of Polish song – Wojciech Młynarski.
Charismatic vocalist Wojciech Myrczek and acclaimed trumpeter and music producer Piotr Schmidt invite you to a concert inspired by Młynarski’s lyrics, with fresh, bold new arrangements by Krzysztof Herdzin and Sabina Meck, featuring compositions by Jerzy Derfel, Janusz Sent, Włodzimierz Nahorny, and Jerzy Wasowski.
This time, in the extraordinary setting of the NOSPR hall, with special guests – iconic Polish vocalists Ewa Bem and Aga Zaryan, joined by Poland’s finest string orchestra – AUKSO, under the direction of Maestro Marek Moś.
Wojciech Młynarski – a consummate master of words, who called himself simply a “lyricist.” A sharp observer of reality. A brilliant commentator: sometimes moving, sometimes bitter, but never cynical.
Though he passed away in 2017, Młynarski continues to inspire artists to create new interpretations of his well-known songs and lyrics. Among them are Wojciech Myrczek, Piotr Schmidt, and Krzysztof Herdzin, who serve up Młynarski in a jazz idiom – with respect for tradition and the timelessness of his texts.
The repertoire chosen by the artists includes both famous hits such as “Bynajmniej,” “Księżyc nad Kościeliskiem,” and “Podchodzą mnie wolne numery,” as well as lesser-known gems like “Jeżeli przyznać się odważysz” and “Lubię wrony.”
Expect dazzling instrumental virtuosity, a unique atmosphere, and witty stage presence. This will be one of those evenings to be remembered for a long time.
Concert duration: approximately 120 minutes
