Trumpeter and composer Markus Stockhausen is regarded as one of the most versatile musicians of our time. His compositions bring together jazz, classical music and contemporary music. Drawing on the legacy of his father, Karlheinz Stockhausen (1928–2007), he incorporates electronic instruments into his performances, using them to subtly enrich the quartet's sound. Markus Stockhausen’s latest album is entitled Celebration. Audiences can expect the concert to embody that same spirit – a true celebration of the music performed by the quartet. A celebration in the finest sense of the word: rich arrangements, captivating improvisations, a keen sensitivity to detail, and a seamless crossing of stylistic boundaries.
