Family Concerts - NOSPR

There is at least one Sunday every month that is well worth spending together as a family at NOSPR. Our Family Concerts offer just such an opportunity, combining the pleasures of a Sunday afternoon with something worthwhile. We programme them with plenty of variety, making room for different musical genres – and we do not take the easy route. This means that even very young music lovers, accompanied by their grown-ups, can have a taste of musical masterpieces presented in an accessible way. There will be a winter journey and a journey around the world, a trip to the Moon and a balloon flight, Christmas carol singing, and visits to Mozart and Beethoven. Each concert tells a different story, brings different emotions and opens up a different world, but they all have one thing in common: the joy of experiencing music together.

For most of these concerts, we welcome listeners aged four and over, although we know there are younger, die-hard music lovers who will watch an entire concert wide-eyed – or happily doze off – just as there are older ‘unconvinced’ ones who will tug at their grown-up’s sleeve and make for the exit. We make the recommendation; the decision belongs to those who know their children best – parents, grandparents and carers.
