YAMATO – The Drummers of Japan „Hito no Chikara – The Power of Human Strength”
“YAMATO – The Drummers of Japan” return to Poland in November 2026!
The Japanese ensemble YAMATO – The Drummers of Japan will once again visit Poland. In November 2026, the group will present their brand-new production “Hito no Chikara – The Power of Human Strength” as part of their world tour. The artists will perform in seven Polish cities: Gdynia, Katowice, Warsaw, Łódź, Kraków, Bielsko-Biała, and Wrocław.
YAMATO is one of the most renowned taiko ensembles in the world. Since 1993, they have performed over 4,500 concerts in 55 countries, captivating millions of spectators worldwide. The group is famous for its extraordinary energy, perfect synchronization, and unforgettable performances that stay with audiences long after the final beat.
YAMATO concerts defy simple definition. They are not only a showcase of percussive precision, but also a spectacular music-theatre experience, where Japanese tradition meets contemporary stage form, choreography, and an overwhelming power of expression. The artists describe their art as “physical music”—music created with the entire body, through maximum effort and absolute focus.
More than 40 taiko drums appear on stage, each with its own unique sound and character. At the heart of the performance stands the legendary Odaiko—a monumental drum crafted from a tree over 400 years old, measuring nearly two meters in diameter and weighing an impressive 500 kilograms. Its sound makes a truly physical impact—a rhythm you can literally feel throughout your entire body.
Alongside the powerful taiko, the show also features sounds inspired by traditional Japanese music and instruments that create a unique atmosphere, including shinobue, chappa, and kane, making the performance surprisingly rich and diverse.
“Hito no Chikara” – Human Strength in a World of Technology
YAMATO’s latest tour carries a powerful message. In an era of rapid technological development and artificial intelligence, the group asks a fundamental question: can human authenticity truly be replaced?
“Hito no Chikara” is a story about the strength of humanity—about emotion, determination, and energy that no technology, no matter how advanced, can replace.
Concert duration (intermission included): approximately 120 minutes
