Camerata Silesia / A Jubilee Celebration: From Kurpie to Spirituals - NOSPR

During the jubilee concert From Kurpie to Spirituals, audiences will encounter two remarkable musical worlds which, though rooted in different traditions and cultures, are united by profound spirituality, emotional depth and extraordinary beauty.

The programme features masterly arrangements of ethnic music, including Karol Szymanowski’s Kurpie Songs – a cycle inspired by the authentic folklore of the Kurpie region and regarded as one of the masterpieces of the musical miniature. The songs captivate with their subtlety, harmonic richness and remarkable expressiveness.

The second half of the programme is devoted to Spirituals rooted in the African American tradition. Their distinctive choral settings are enriched by jazz arrangements by Krzysztof Herdzin, who, together with his trio, brings fresh energy and a new sound to these timeless songs.

This meeting of folk, classical and jazz traditions creates a unique musical narrative about freedom, faith, hope and community – values that have long been at the heart of Camerata Silesia’s artistic mission.
