Kasia Lins – Obywatelka K.L. - Grzegorz Ciechowski's songs - NOSPR

Citizen K.L. is a unique project in which Kasia Lins does not pay a simple tribute to Grzegorz Ciechowski, but engages in a personal, artistic dialogue with his work. Adopting the alter ego of Citizen K.L., she reaches for less obvious songs - those which for years remained in the shadow of the greatest hits of Republika and Obywatel G.C. – and gives them a new, contemporary sound. 

This is a concert that rediscovers Ciechowski. Instead of a nostalgic journey through the greatest hits, the audience receivesm a coherent, emotional story about obsession, desire, love and loneliness. The cinematic, dark arrangements characteristic of Kasia Lins combine cold-wave aesthetics with trip-hop, subtle electronics and piano, creating a hypnotising atmosphere in which Ciechowski’s lyrics resonate with new power.
 

There will also be exceptional touches on stage – during the concerts, the original Yamaha EX5 synthesiser that once belonged to Grzegorz Ciechowski is used, giving the project an additional symbolic dimension. Each performance is enriched by carefully prepared visuals, thanks to which the concert becomes not only a musical event, but also a dramatic audiovisual spectacle.

The Citizen K.L. project, awarded three Fryderyk Awards, is an offering both for devoted fans of Grzegorz Ciechowski’s work and for listeners who want to discover his lesser-known compositions in Kasia Lins’s bold, extraordinarily moving interpretations.
