JazzKLUB / The Elephant / The Elephant in the Room
The Italian trio’s name, paired with the title of their debut album, suggests ‘an obvious issue that is ignored’. Yet the sounds fashioned by these musicians, each seasoned in multiple forms of improvised music, contradict the idiom’s meaning. Although the avant-garde is close to their aesthetic, they never ignore the presence of rock, world music, or a well-turned melody. The very timbre of the ensemble – defined by the rare combination of vibraphone, trumpet, and drums – already suggests that nothing will be obvious. Generous use of electronics deepens the impression of encountering an enigmatic, yet compelling, mystery.

Concert duration: approximately 90 minutes
