JazzKLUB / Rachel Eckroth Trio / A Pianist of Many Faces - NOSPR

Born in North Dakota, the pianist, vocalist, and composer not only embraces the label of musical chameleon, but identifies with it, turning versatility and an almost magical capacity for transformation into a defining artistic hallmark. Thus we encounter Rachel Eckroth the singer-songwriter, Rachel the jazz pianist, and Rachel the highly sought-after sidewoman, known in particular for her work with Chris Botti’s ensemble. Her discography includes a solo piano album as well as unconventional reinterpretations of standards. Her music has been featured in television and film, while her album The Garden received a Grammy nomination in 2022. In her all-female trio she draws upon the full range of capabilities, displaying with refinement both pianistic craft and compositional imagination.
