Burning with white-hot emotion, Quantum Trio’s music has an alchemical streak. Heavy, steel-like riffs and metal percussion blend with romantic piano passages and cosmic saxophone solos. From among the several terms used to describe Quantum Trio, jazzcore seems to capture it best. The musicians owe the formula for this musical philosopher’s stone entirely to themselves – their strength lies in their refusal to conform, in their search for a voice of their own, and in their ability to craft diverse yet coherent songs that, above all, linger in the memory. This is not music for well-behaved children, but a true ritual of sheer energy, expression, and pathos.
