JazzKLUB / Omasta / Jazz Report from the Hood
In 2025, Omasta burst onto both the Polish and international jazz scenes. A series of concerts at prestigious venues – including London’s Ronnie Scott’s, Brussels’ AB and the Gent Jazz Festival – culminated in the release of an album on the Astigmatic Records label. Jazz Report from the Hood perfectly captures Omasta's music, which the musicians themselves describe as the soundtrack to everyday struggles, highs and lows. Blending jazz, funk, hip-hop and street culture, Omasta draws inspiration from such giants as Roy Ayers, Donald Byrd, Bob James and Lonnie Liston Smith. The band has also performed concerts dedicated to the music of J Dilla and Madlib. In Katowice, Omasta's music will therefore have a distinctive Kraków–American flavour.
