JazzKLUB / Marcin Wasilewski Trio feat. Tomasz Dąbrowski / Stańko’s Legacy in Motion - NOSPR

Marcin Wasilewski Trio has collaborated with outstanding musicians on many occasions. They have recorded with Joakim Milder, the great Joe Lovano and – still performing as Simple Acoustic Trio – with Henryk Miśkiewicz. And, of course, with Tomasz Stańko, who found in the trio one of the most important line-ups of his career. Stańko’s association and collaboration with Tomasz Dąbrowski, one of the leading Polish voices in contemporary trumpet, was documented on The Copenhagen Session. Dąbrowski, in turn, carries Stańko’s artistic legacy forward with his ensemble The Individual Beings, where he played the master’s own trumpet. The joint project of the trio and the trumpeter was a natural culmination of these experiences. They differ in generational experience and in the length of time they spent working alongside Stańko. What unites them is a profound understanding of the legendary artist’s music and message, including his most important conviction: not to look back and recreate, but to create and keep moving forward.
