Camerata Silesia / Szostak / Folk Inspirations - NOSPR

For decades, folk music has occupied an important place in the output of Polish composers. Nor was it absent from the work of composers of the second half of the twentieth century, who readily drew on the folk tradition. Traces of this fascination can be found in arrangements of folk music by Krzysztof Penderecki, Wojciech Kilar, Henryk Mikołaj Górecki and Witold Szalonek. Although these composers are known above all for their major symphonic and choral works, folk music also occupied an important place in their creative output. This concert offers an opportunity to discover this lesser-known yet remarkably fascinating aspect of their oeuvre.
