This concert was scheduled for two years ago. The pandemic thwarted those plans. Its shadow looms over Katarzyna Głowicka’s Solitude Quartet, exploring the state of ‘frozen emotions’ in the face of confinement and an uncertain tomorrow. There are many possible survival strategies.In botanical studies, Żaneta Rydzewska focusses on nature, transferring an impression of floral shapes and structures to the world of sounds. Andrzej Kwieciński, in [PIPE(s)]64, remains within his favourite spaces: dexterity games (Super Mario Bros), Baroque music (recorder) and string quartet. For Dominik Karski, the string quartet is a bearer of metaphor: the need to plan the future and the impossibility of short-cuts, Beyond a Shadow of Certainty.
