A Visit to Mozart - NOSPR

Imagine a house where the floorboards creak in time with the music, sheets covered in notes keep sliding off the table, and infectious laughter can be heard from behind closed doors. This is the bustling world of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s study. We invite you on a very special family visit where, instead of looking at exhibits, we will simply enjoy playing with sound. You will discover that classical music can speak the language of the imagination, bringing generations together through a shared experience.

Mozart was equally at home writing music for dancing, creating chamber masterpieces and playing with simple melodies, proving that even the briefest musical theme can be the beginning of a fascinating adventure. One of the finest examples is a set of variations based on the tune known in Poland as Wyszły w pole kurki trzy. Just a few notes are enough for Mozart to create music full of surprises, wit and virtuosic invention.

The Five Contredanses, in turn, will open the door to a world of courtly yet no less lively dancing, while in the Clarinet Quintet in A major we will listen in on a conversation between the clarinet and string quartet, in which every voice matters. There will also be one of Mozart’s most popular pieces: the energetic Turkish March.

Our visit to Mozart will therefore be less a lesson in music history than an encounter with a composer whose music still retains something of a child’s curiosity about the world. Perhaps that is precisely why both the youngest listeners and those who have been returning to his music for many years feel so at home in it.
