Kaleidoscope / Out-of-This-World Music – with the Harpsichord Taking Centre Stage - NOSPR

Out-of-this-world music – but what exactly does that mean? Music that transports us to another world? And why the harpsichord – an instrument that disappeared from concert stages around the world for many years, displaced by the piano? What happened to make it necessary to write anew the history of an instrument whose place might have seemed permanently secure thanks to the great masters?

This concert will explore whether music can be tremendously appealing to people while at the same time being profoundly important – even capable of saving lives. We will therefore hear about some extraordinary personalities from the world of music and some remarkable musical records comparable to, and sometimes even surpassing, Guinness World Records.

An important encounter and discussion lie ahead, and we will do our best to draw you into the conversation too. But above all, there will be wonderful music, wonderfully performed.
