Matthew Herbert and drummer-vocalist Momoko Gill have announced the release of their new album, "Clay," in June 2025. It's a soulful collaboration that deftly moves between the dancefloor and the introspective moods of the early hours. Nimble and honest, "Clay" draws from a diverse range of found sources—from Japanese kotos to basketballs—to give its sound an organic feel. For Herbert, this means treating the world as an instrument: bombs exploding in Libya, horse skeletons, 20,000 dogs, 245 stores. His album "ONE PIG"—tracing the life cycle of a pig from birth to plate—remains one of the most provocative works of electronic music this century.
