Concert of Laureates - NOSPR
Concert of Laureates
The evening is dedicated to the memory of Professor Joachim Grubich (1935–2025), a distinguished organist and teacher. His debut at the International Festival of Organ Music in Oliwa in 1960 set him on a course that would carry him to the great concert halls of Europe, the Americas, and Asia. He performed in Poland and abroad with orchestras led by some of the finest conductors. As a professor at two Academies of Music – in Warsaw and Kraków – he trained entire generations of organists, and both his artistic and didactic work, honoured with the highest distinctions, still offers a lasting source of inspiration for musicians who come after him.
As part of Organ Open Day at the NOSPR, we invite you to an exceptional concert featuring winners of Polish national organ competitions – young, gifted artists whose interpretations and virtuosity already carry the poise and skill of seasoned performers. They will take us through a programme as varied in terms of sound and expression as the instrument itself. This concert will allow the audience to discover the organ as an instrument with an extraordinary spectrum of emotions and styles – from Baroque and Romanticism to 20th-century modes of expression.
Free admission. Limited capacity. Free admission passes (unnumbered) for the event will be available at the NOSPR ticket office from 8 September at 10 a.m.
We kindly request punctuality.
Concert duration: approximately 80 minutes
We wish to inform you that, owing to the dedication of the concert to Professor Joachim Grubich, minor organisational adjustments have been introduced, which will result in the extension of the concert’s duration. Those who have purchased tickets for the guided organ tour at 7.00 p.m. are warmly invited to attend the concert first. The tour will commence immediately after the concert finishes.
