A graduate of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, where he studied percussion under Professor Stanisław Proksa and Wojciech Herzyk, PhD, earning his diploma with distinction. His musical education began in the percussion class of Janina Romanowska at the Fryderyk Chopin Primary and Secondary School of Music in Bytom and reached its conclusion, likewise with honours, under the guidance of Arkadiusz Kuc.
Adam is a prize-winner at international competitions in Portugal, Italy, and Poland. On two occasions, in 2015 and 2018, he took part in concert tours of the I’Culture Orchestra. While preparing for these projects, he worked closely with musicians from the Berliner Philharmoniker and the London Symphony Orchestra. He has received scholarships from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage and from the Rector of the Academy of Music in Katowice.
For well over a decade, he has been a percussionist with the New Music Orchestra, turning up at major contemporary music festivals in Poland, participating in the ensemble’s concert cycle at the NOSPR, and taking part in a steady stream of recordings and premieres. This has brought him into collaboration with some of the most important contemporary composers from around the world. In 2018, together with New Music Orchestra and Wojciech Herzyk, he performed the Polish premiere of Per Nørgård’s Bach to the Future, a concerto for two percussionists and chamber orchestra.
He has appeared as a soloist in concerts with the Polish Radio Choir, Camerata Silesia, and the New Music Orchestra. He also works regularly with AUKSO – Chamber Orchestra of the City of Tychy, the Silesian Chamber Orchestra, and the Silesian Philharmonic Orchestra. Between 2023 and 2024 he held the position of timpanist with the Zabrze Philharmonic.
Since 2024, Adam has been working as a percussionist with the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice.
