Royal Scottish National Orchestra / Thomas Søndergård / Lise de la Salle - NOSPR
Royal Scottish National Orchestra / Thomas Søndergård / Lise de la Salle
RSNO is one of only three orchestras in the British Isles – alongside the Royal Philharmonic and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic – which can boast a „royal” name and patronage. Founded in 1843, as an ensemble accompanying the Glasgow Choral Union, it has already endured several historical hurricanes, including the Great Depression and the Second World War. It has been conducted by Richard Strauss, played with Rubinstein, and accompanied Pavarotti. In Katowice, it will be led by its boss, Thomas Søndergård, and perform together with Lise de la Salle, considered a continuator of Józef Hofmann’s pianistic tradition. The programme to be presented in Katowice will allow us to fully appreciate their artistry, gusto, and unfailing craft.
Co-financed by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage
Duration of the concert (including break): approx. 110 minutes
