The Table with Musical Scores – installation Katowice Culture Nature Festival „Melancholy and Ecstasy” - NOSPR

Can a musical score actually play music? Come and find out at a table full of musical surprises. Simply open any score and you will hear the fragment recorded inside it. By following the notation, you can trace the individual instrumental lines – strings, wind instruments, or timpani – and discover the inner workings of the composition. The Table with Music Scores also invites some more creative and playful engagement with music. Fragments of the sheet music may be played individually or layered on top of one another, their sequence can be changed and combined into new sonic configurations. In this way, not only does the installation introduce the audience to the world of musical notation, but also encourages experimentation and the independent reshaping of the given piece. The project by Henry Schneider and Erwin Stache premiered in 2001, and now the NOSPR joins in this musical adventure!
