Dance! – cries the Persian poet and theologian Rumi, whose poetry inspired Karol Szymanowski and whose example led to the founding, in Konya, during the thirteenth century, of the Order of Whirling Dervishes, celebrating the love of God in dancing meditation. Dance links body and soul, as we sense when listening to Anne Clyne’s composition, imbued with strength, lyricism and lush melodies, written for the Israeli cellist Inbal Segev, who is our guest at the NOSPR.
