Yes, Field 8. Elixir will be a work for a building’s interior. A space in which one can move between layers and sources of sound coming from different directions. The several dozen instruments and the musicians playing on them will be distributed across all the floors. Wojtek Blecharz urges us to walk around the whole building, pausing here and there, and listening closely to the shifting constellations of sound. This is an event for all the family, for social groups and for solo sound hunters. Come a little earlier – before the work’s premiere, the composer will tell us how best to experience it. You don’t need any skills, you don’t need to ‘understand’ contemporary music, just be and listen intently.
