If you're 20 years old and your first record, Samara Joy, earns you two of the top Grammy Awards (Best Vocal Album and Best New Artist), what can happen next? When a 20-year-old wins first the Ellington Festival and then the Sara Vaughan International Singing Competition, director Regina King pronounces: "In this girl Sarah and Ella Fitzgerald live simultaneously”. Samara has a unique voice, a unique timbre. The world of jazz Samara listens sympathetically as she appears successively: on Broadway, in Carnegie Hall, in Jazz at Lincoln Center - the temples of music.
