Final Concert of the 6th Metropolitan Choral Festival
The VI Metropolitan Choral Festival is a celebration of choral music in Upper Silesia! The originator and main organizer of the event is the Choir of the University of Economics in Katowice. The next edition of the festival is a series of 5 concerts from May 15 to 19 this year! The purpose of the festival is to popularize choral music among the residents of primarily Upper Silesia, but also the whole country. 11 choirs have been invited to participate in the festival, not only from Katowice and the surrounding area, but also friendly ensembles from all over Poland and abroad! The festival will open together on May 15 at 17:00 on the square in front of the Silesian Theater in Katowice, where the participating choirs will present themselves. Festival concerts will be held every day from Wednesday, May 15, in various locations in and around Katowice
● On May 15 at 19:00 at St. Mary's Church in Katowice, the Canticum Novum Choir from Suszec, the Risonanza Continua Choir, the Cantate Deo Choir from Tychy will perform
● May 16 at 19:00 in the Evangelical Church of the Resurrection in Katowice will perform Choir Canto d'Oro from ZPSM in Katowice, Chamber Ensemble Santarello
● May 17 at 18:30 in the Holy Cross Church in Siemianowice Śląskie, will perform Silesian Mining Choir Polonia Harmonia, Apertum Cor Singing Ensemble
● May 18 at 18:00 at the W. Kilar State Music School Complex in Katowice, the Choir of the University of Economics in Katowice, the Academic Choir of the Maritime University in Gdynia, Cetóbriga Chamber Choir will perform
The highlight of the festival will be the final concert, which will take place on May 19 at 6:30 pm in the concert hall of the NOSPR in Katowice, where together more than 300 artists will stand on one stage to perform Giuseppe Verdi's Requiem! We already encourage you to attend our concerts, where you will be able to discover the beauty of choral music!
Free tickets can be picked up at the NOSPR box office from 7 May at 10:00 a.m.
