JazzKLUB / Aga Derlak Quintet - NOSPR
JazzKLUB / Aga Derlak Quintet
Aga Derlak’s quintet is a band composed of leading jazz musicians, led by a pianist and flutist, winner of the 2016 Fryderyk award for a debut album. She participated in the Berklee Global Jazz Institute in Boston’s scholarship programme, where she was honing her skills mentored by Danilo Pérez (Grammy winner, Wayne Shorter Quartet’s pianist), deepening her knowledge of piano performance techniques and improvised music, as well as developing her sensitivity and growing in her artistic maturity. During her stay in Panama, she was growing as a mentor and educator, which strongly influenced her personality, goals, and mission.
Her new quintet is a vehicle which constitutes a quintessence of searching for one’s own artistic identity and exploration of risk, a factor of particular significance in art.
