Granice niczego [The Boundaries of Nothing] – Krzysztof Knittel in conversation with Michał Mendyk
Krzysztof Knittel is an artist who values experimentation, independence and a liberal approach to canons. At the Festival of Premieres, not only will we have a chance to experience his latest composition ka makana o ke ola, but we will also meet the composer himself, in a conversation moderated by Michał Mendyk.
The point of departure will be the book Granice niczego [Boundaries of Nothing] – published by PWM last year, a record of these two interlocutors’ conversation, in which the composer presents a compelling and oftentimes disputatious discussion of such topics as the use of new technologies in creating music and bringing together various fields of art, the significance of culture and education in the world of politics, or generational co-responsibility. He also devotes much space to family, friends, and his beloved dogs. Is there anything more to say? At NOSPR, we will see that a meeting on a book can be surprising, as there will be no dearth of playing with the convention and references to the experimental works by the composer Knittel values the most – John Cage.
