The programme of this recital forms an elegantly woven cycle covering three centuries in the history of music and three different musical cultures: German, French and British. The Myrthen Ensemble, an award-winning group of four vocalists, proposes an unusual evening comprising not just songs, but also vocal duets and quartets. The subject matter of the works oscillates around several themes: the night, longing and love (Brahms), a Romantic sensing of nature (Schumann) and a sea voyage (French and British composers). The translations displayed during the concert will allow listeners to fully appreciate the beauty and depth of the music.
