Candy Dulfer / Concert for Eye to Eye Cancer Foundation
Candy Dulfer, saxophonist, originally from the Netherlands. The daughter of legendary Dutch jazzman, also a saxophonist, Hans Dulfer. Her father quickly discovered his daughter's talent and placed her in a local brass band, where Candy got to know her favorite alto saxophone. It was also thanks to her father that she became acquainted with the works of famous saxophone virtuosos such as Sonny Rollins, Coleman Hawkins and Dexter Gordon. However, her greatest master remains, besides her father, Miles Davis.
In 2021, Candy Dulfer embarked on a tour with her band to bring her unique "funky stuff" to audiences around the world. She can't wait to perform in Poland again and show her loyal fans the brand new songs she's been working on. Dulfer has earned her place in music history – with Grammy – nominated debut album Saxuality, combined worldwide sales of over 2.5 million copies of her solo albums, live and studio performances with some of the biggest names in music (including Prince, Van Morrison, Pink Floyd), several No. 1 hits in Europe, Japan and the U.S., as well as her world tours and legendary live performances.
Like everyone else around the world, she had to put her plans on hold when the pandemic struck. Staying home for an extended period of time – something she had almost never experienced in over 35 years of touring the world – gave her time to explore new creative areas. Candy has always been great at reinventing herself, and she wasn't about to let herself get sidetracked, even though those times were terrible for so many people. "People need music, point / dot. If I can't provide it to them in the way we're used to, we'll find new ways to entertain them and bring solace and love to everyone. This is what I was born to do and what I will continue to do."
Candy's biggest goal in 2021 was to return to the stage in order to finally present her new band and amazing new music to fans around the world. This is exactly what is happening right now, and Candy Dulfer will come to Katowice with a new repertoire, especially for the charity event. Profits from the concert will be donated to the Eye to Eye Cancer Foundation.
