Vicente Amigo - NOSPR
Vicente Amigo
Vicente Amigo is a temperamental Spanish musician, flamenco composer and guitar virtuoso. He has participated in recordings of popular flamenco singers like El Pele, Camarón de la Isla, Vicente Soto, Luis de Córdoba, and the Rociero Salmarina band. He himself has also acted as a producer for artists such as Remedios Amaya and José Merce.
At the NOSPR in Katowice, Vicente Amigo will perform with his band, which consists of some of the most outstanding instrumentalists in their genre.
His album Ciudad de las Ideas won the prestigious Latin Grammy award for best flamenco album in 2001, and a year later he received the Ondas award for best Flamenco song. An admirer of Paco de Lucía, he scored with his idol by attending the Leyendas de la guitarra show held in Seville as a preview of Expo 92, which featured artists such as Paco de Lucía, Bob Dylan, Keith Richards, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Nuno Bettencourt, Phil Manzanera, Joe Cocker, Jack Bruce and Richard Thompson.
Vicente Amigo has participated in recordings by big-name artists such as Sting, Khaled Miguel Bose Carmen Linares, Manolo Sanlucar, Wagner Tiso, Rosario, Nacho Cano, Alejandro Sanz, etc., and has shared the stage with some of today's greatest artists: Paco de Lucía, Stanley Jordan, John McLaughlin, Al Di Meola, Milton Nascimento.
We recommend and invite you to an unforgettable journey through the sounds of flamenco.
