Elżbieta Korelus - NOSPR

A harpist in every sense – a soloist, a chamber musician, and a symphonic performer – she has long been connected with Silesia. She began learning the harp at the age of thirteen. She graduated with distinction from the master’s programme in the class of Prof. Helga Storck at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music, where she now teaches harp as an Assistant Lecturer.

She honed her solo and chamber harp technique with a formidable line-up of musical mentors, including Susan McDonald, Elżbieta Szmyt, Klaus Storck, Dawid Wattkins, Imogen Barford, and Isabelle Moretti.

Elżbieta Korelus is a laureate of many significant solo and chamber music competitions in Poland and abroad.

As a soloist, she has performed with the Silesian Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, the Academic Chamber Orchestra, and the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice. Her discography includes numerous recordings made with leading Polish orchestras. Since 2014, she has been a harpist of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice, holding the position of deputy soloist.

Since 2022, she has been a member of the Board of the Polish Harp Society. Alongside this role, she organises a series of recurring harp events, including Śląskie Dni Harfy (the Silesian Harp Days), Katowickie Spotkania Harfowe (the Katowice Harp Encounters), and the Międzynarodowy Konkurs Duetów z Harfą (the International Competition of Duets with Harp).

While her daily work is centred on classical music, she is equally driven by a passion for developing her skills in harp improvisation, popular music, and songwriting.
