Aleksander Daszkiewicz Violin

Aleksander Daszkiewicz graduated with distinction with a Master's degree (Konzertdiploma) from the Hochschule der Künste in Bern, Switzerland (violin class of Professor Bartłomiej Nizioł), as well as his Master's and Doctoral studies at the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Cracow, (violin class of Professor Wiesław Kwaśny). He currently continues his collaboration with his Alma Mater in Cracow, holding a teacher position in the Department of Violin and Viola.
He has won top prizes at numerous international violin competitions, including those in Lublin (K. Lipiński and H. Wieniawski International Competition – 4th place and three special prizes), Budapest (Jeunesses Musicales – 2nd place), Ústi nad Orlici (Kocian International Violin Competition – 1st place), Belgrade (16th P. Konjovic International Competition – 1st place), Cracow (3rd E. Umińska National Competition – 1st place and two special prizes), Wrocław (3rd H. W. Ernst and K. Szymanowski International Violin Competition – 2nd place), and Cardiff (Menuhin Competition – finalist). As a soloist, he has performed with the Krakow Philharmonic, Theater Orchester Biel Solothurn, Sinfonietta Cracovia, Opole Philharmonic, Świętokrzyska Philharmonic, Sudecka Philharmonic, and the Symphony Orchestra of the Academy of Music in Krakow. He perfected his skills with many outstanding teachers (including Kaja Danczowska, Zakhar Bron, Igor Ozim, Akiko Suwanai, Corina Belcea, Alena Baeva, Tomasz Tomaszewski, Robert Szreder, Ning Feng).
For many years, he was associated with the Cracow-based Pro Musica Bona Foundation, which honored him with the title of Honorary Scholarship. He has also received scholarships from the K. Bartkowiak Pro Libertas et Humanitas Foundation, the R. Zimmermann Stiftung, the Blanken-Schlemper Stitfung, an artistic scholarship from the Rector of the Academy of Music in Cracow, the Scholarship of the City of Cracow, and the "Young Poland" Scholarship of the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
As concertmaster of the Santander Orchestra, he undertook two concert tours under the direction of Maestro Krzysztof Penderecki. He completed one-year orchestral internships with the Berner Sinfonieorchester and the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester, and was also a musician of the Verbier Festival Orchestra and the Gewandhausorchester in Leipzig. He currently holds the position of soloist of first violin section in the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice. As a member of these Orchestras, he has performed in London (BBC Proms – Royal Albert Hall), Boston (Symphony Hall), Tokyo (Suntory Hall), Vienna (Musikverein), Salzburg (Salzburger Festspiele – Festspielhaus), Berlin (Philharmonie), Hamburg (Elbphilharmonie), Stuttgart (Liederhalle), and Wiesbaden (Rheinhau Music Festival – Kurhaus). He also had the opportunity to participate in numerous projects with renowned conductors (including Sir Simon Rattle, Lawrence Foster, Antonio Pappano, Andris Nelsons, Christoph Eschenbach, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Daniele Gatti) and soloists (Janine Jansen, Yuja Wang, Mischa Maisky, Gidon Kremer, Evgeny Kissin, Frank Peter Zimmermann, Leonidas Kavakos, Sergey Babayan, Augustin Hadelich and many others).
