Adam Balas - NOSPR

A cultural manager, graduate of the Academy of Music in Kraków, and lecturer at that institution from 1995 to 2005. He co-founded the Sinfonietta Cracovia orchestra, and from 1997 to 2010 shaped the ensemble’s public profile as its manager as well as an originator and producer of hundreds of concert events and recordings. He is a graduate of the prestigious Fellowship Program (2010/2011) at the J. F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, during which he collaborated, among others, with the National Symphony Orchestra.

Between 2011 and 2012, he acted as the investor during the construction of the Krzysztof Penderecki European Centre for Music, a project financed by the European Regional Development Fund under the Infrastructure and Environment Operational Programme. Beginning in 2013, he has been developing a wide range of educational and concert initiatives on the modern, globally unique campus in Lusławice. In 2019, he was appointed to the Council of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. From 1 September 2019 until 31 August 2025, he was the Director of the Krzysztof Penderecki European Centre for Music.

On 21 August, Adam Balas received his appointment as Director of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Marta Cienkowska. His five-year term began on 1 September 2025.
