Amadeus' music, Overture to Don Giovanni / The Academy of St Martin in the Fields / Mozart & Haydn - NOSPR
Amadeus' music, Overture to Don Giovanni / The Academy of St Martin in the Fields / Mozart & Haydn
The British chamber orchestra owes its name to its first residence – St. Martin in the Fields, a London church located near the northeast corner of Trafalgar Square. It was founded as a string orchestra specializing in Baroque and Classical repertoire.
The musicians do not use antique instruments or their replicas; instead, they remain faithful to modern instruments. However, their musical credo adheres to the 17th and 18th-century style of phrasing, devoid of romantic expression.
In a short period, the ensemble became one of the world's finest chamber orchestras. Their popularity is largely attributed to their recordings, having produced nearly five hundred albums in total. Their recordings of film soundtracks for movies such as "Amadeus" and "Titanic" achieved particularly high sales.
The orchestra will be conducted by Hungarian conductor Adam Fischer, and in Mozart's Piano Concerto in D minor, composed by the composer after his mother's death, we will hear the young Italian pianist Beatrice Rana at the piano.
