María Toledo & flamenco - NOSPR
María Toledo & flamenco
Temperament, strength, sensuality, passion, and dedication – María Toledo has all that is needed to perform flamenco. The artist is the first woman in the history of flamenco who sings while accompanying herself on the piano. In spite of her young age, she has already been described as a style icon. She has received six nominations for the Latin Grammy awards. In Katowice, Toledo will present her latest album, Ranchera Flamenca. It is a unique concept, blending traditional Mexican rancheras ballads with the rhythms of various types of flamenco. The singer sheds a new light on popular songs made famous by such artists as Rocío Dúrcal, Juan Gabriel, and José Alfredo Jiménez. Toledo’s magnetism, unfalsifiable style, unique voice, and her respect for tradition, are reasons enough to make one surrender to her.
