NOSPR / Lawrence Foster / Marc Coppey Special concert for medici.tv - NOSPR

This evening in NOSPR will undoubtedly be a unique one. Musicians of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra will have a chance to perform not only for the audience gathered in the NOSPR concert hall, but also for melomaniacs from all over the world, thanks to Medici TV - one of three most prestigious musical platforms.

Medici TV is a global leader in production of TV broadcast classical music concerts, offering a selection of the most wonderful concerts, performances of the most exquisite soloists and renowned ensembles. It will also be a chance to promote our concert hall and the city of Katowice – UNESCO City of Music.

This evening, the orchestra will perform with an exquisite cellist Marc Coppey. The concert will be conducted by Lawrence Foster,NOSPR’s new artistic director and 1st conductor, whom the Katowice audience has already seen in most sophisticated and perfect interpretations.

The soloist – Marc Coppey – will perform in NOSPR for the first time. At an age as young as 18, the French cello virtuoso earned appreciation from sir Yehudi Menuhin during the Leipzig International Bach Competition, at which he won both the 1st prize and a special prize.

The programme comprises special works, two Dmitri Shostakovich’s cello concertos and two Franz Liszt’s symphonic poems – Les Préludes and Orpheus.

The concert will take place within the special period of preparation for Christmas. This time is worth finding a little time to indulge oneself with the sounds of music, which enables us to find inner peace and warmth necessary to bring the holiday atmosphere around.
