"Lura is coming back!

What a joy it is to welcome her once again on the Siesta w drodze tour, in the early days of autumn 2025. We won’t be afraid of rain, darkness, or chill - ahead of us lies only light, warmth, and good energy.

This artist, arguably the most popular, sensual, and spectacular performer from Cabo Verde, was once set to become a professional swimmer! But fate had other plans. Her friend, the singer Juka, invited her to the studio while recording his new album and, just for fun, asked her to sing background vocals on one of the tracks. Her voice turned out to be remarkable - low, sensual, and captivating. Juka took it further and persuaded her to record a duet. That evening changed the musical history of the islands.

A Portuguese producer brought Lura on board for a dance and club music album and she sounded fantastic. Soon after, Bonga, the legend of Lusophone music, invited her to join him in concert. Their duet, Mulemba Xangola, caught the attention of the Lusafrica label and from there, her career took off. Her stunning debut album Di Korpu Ku Alma was released in multiple countries, and each subsequent release only confirmed her artistry and class. Carlos Saura selected Lura, the only singer from Cabo Verde, as a symbol of the new Cape Verde, for his film Fados about Lusophone music.

Duets followed with Richard Bona, Angélique Kidjo, Elida Almeida, and Fábia Rebordão - each one a masterpiece. And every new solo album by Lura has been a true musical event."

The idea behind SIESTA w drodze is to present live performances by artists known from Marcin Kydryński’s Sunday radio show Pora Siesty and from the best-selling Siesta compilation series (now at its 20th edition). The host and artistic director of SIESTA w drodze is Marcin Kydryński - radio presenter, lyricist, music producer, photographer, and co-organizer of the Siesta Festival in Gdańsk.

SIESTA w drodze has hosted world-renowned stars such as Pat Metheny, Bobby McFerrin & Chick Corea, and Dianne Reeves. The project has also featured: Richard Bona, Ana Moura, Camané, Tito Paris, Sara Tavares, Lura, Mayra Andrade, Tcheka, Elida Almeida, Yami, Nancy Vieira, Lucibela, Marcio Faraco, and Dino D’Santiago.

In Siesta, the blending of cultures, the erasing of boundaries while respecting the traditions of each region, and reconciliation beyond historical divides - these are among the most cherished values, alongside the music itself.
