Concert in memory of Krzysztof Penderecki - NOSPR
Concert in memory of Krzysztof Penderecki
It will be a unique concert closing an untypical season. NOSPR invites you to the first concert in front of the audience after over 3 months. Fewer orchestra members than usual will perform, and the listeners gathered in the specially adapted concert hall will be wearing face masks.
‘This concert is supposed to symbolically break the silence that has been lengthening for over 3 months due to the pandemic. However, our principal aim is to pay homage to our dearest friend and Master, Professor Krzysztof Penderecki. It is very characteristic that through his music we will rise after that interruption,’ says Ewa Bogusz-Moore, General and Programme Director of NOSPR.
The orchestra will perform without some of its members, with no soloists and no conductor – the musicians will be led by the concert master, Piotr Tarcholik. The event commemorates Krzysztof Penderecki, who cooperated with NOSPR for several decades. The programme includes two of his works: Fanfare for the Independent and Chaconne from A Polish Requiem for strings, as well as Symphony No. 45 ‘Farewell’ Hob. I:45 by Joseph Haydn.
Scores of the compositions: Krzysztof PENDERECKI – A Polish Requiem: Chaconne for strings; Fanfare for the Independent for orchestra. Appears courtesy of Schott Music GmbH & Co. KG.
