JazzKLUB / Rodrigo Amado – The Bridge
A rare opportunity for meeting the most outstanding representatives of several generations of jazz avant-garde in one ensemble. Alexander von Schlippenbach defined the European branch of the current in the 60s, Gerry Hemingway, performing in Anthony Braxton’s quartet, reformulated its assumptions in the 80s, while Ingebrigt Håker Flaten – as a member of The Thing trio – led the way into a new millennium. Rodrigo Amado – saxophonist, co-founder of the Clean Feed label, and a renowned photographer – represents the Portuguese jazz scene, which has been exploding with global-scale talents for two decades now. With the four on stage together, countries of origin and dates of birth become meaningless. What counts is the “here and now” – the most significant part of improvised music.
