JazzKLUB / Marta Wajdzik Experiment - NOSPR

Marta Wajdzik has been one of the greatest discoveries of Polish jazz recently. One of her achievements as an 18-year-old musician was winning the Grand Prix of the Junior Młyn Jazz Festival, the prize being a trip to New York complete with participation in the NYU Steinhardt Summer Jazz Improv and Composers Workshop.
Contrary to her debut album, My Planet, which fitted into the jazz mainstream and was based on meticulously planned compositions, Experiment – a special project, only presented at the Jazz Juniors showcase in 2021 – is a reflection of this unbelievably talented saxophonist’s progress in her composition and performing skills. Wajdzik based it on open-form pieces, lending herself and her accompanying musicians more space for improvisation and exploration of new sounds.
