Aga Derlak Quintet – made up of leading musicians of the Polish jazz scene. In September 2019, they released their first album inspired by Polish classical music, mainly works by Fryderyk Chopin and Karol Szymanowski. The new material was premiered at the legendary Dizzy's Club / Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York, during the Jazztopad in NY as well as during the Generations in Jazz festival.
Aga Derlak – a pianist, composer and educator. She graduated from the Berklee College of Music in Boston and from the Academy of Music in Katowice; She studied with Michał Tokaj, Paweł Tomaszewski, and Danilo Perez, a pianist in Wayne Shorter’s quartet. She performs around the world and holds workshops. Derlak worked as a teacher with the Danilo Perez Foundation in Panama, encouraging her students not to fear using their creative freedom. She has performed in the USA, Panama, Mexico, and numerous European countries. She has worked with such artists as Andree Hayward, Louciana Souza, Claudio Ragazzi, Omar Diaz, Carlos Agrazal, PJ Anderson, Zbigniew Namysłowski, Jerzy Małek, Grzech Piotrowski, Andrzej Święs, Sabina Meck and Łukasz Żyta.
