Camerata Silesia / Baculewski Concert for Krzysztof Baculewski’s 70th birthday - NOSPR
Camerata Silesia / Baculewski / Concert for Krzysztof Baculewski’s 70th birthday
It is common knowledge that birthday is best celebrated in a circle of friends. Krzysztof Baculewski (b. 1950) is celebrating his 70th with Camerata Silesia, an ensemble he has been collaborating with for nearly three decades now. Baculewski joins the achievements of contemporary musical language with a tradition established by great masters. Therefore, it is difficult to imagine more suitable interpreters of his works than the Silesian singers who are equally skilled in performing music from various eras, from the Renaissance to the present time. Except Nox ultima, nox beata, all the pieces in the programme were composed with Camerata in mind, while The Profane Anthem to Anne, blending the qualities of timbre with the spirit of Henry Purcell’s baroque, was the beginning of the composer and Anna Szostak’s joint artistic way. We are also going to enjoy a performance of Baculewski’s latest composition and Glosa – a sonoristic (compliant with the title) commentary on art and the surrounding reality, which premiered virtually in 2020.
