Tim Anderson - NOSPR

Anglo-German conductor Tim Anderson is rapidly making a name for himself as an interpreter of 20^th and 21^st century repertoire. He has conducted for companies such as the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, Teatro Real Madrid, Dutch National Opera, Opéra National de Montepellier and Stadttheater Klagenfurt. In concert he has appeared with contemporary music ensembles such as Klangforum Wien, Birmingham Contemporary Music Group and London Sinfonietta and at venues including Vienna’s Konzerthaus, London’s Southbank Centre, Barbican and Katowice’s NOSPR Hall. Notable repertoire includes Salvatore Sciarrino's Il canto s'attrista, perché? and Bernhard Lang’s Hiob, (both world premieres in Klagenfurt), Philip Venables’ Denis and Katya (Amsterdam, Montpellier, London, Wales), Gerald Barry’s The Intelligence Park (Birmingham) and Mark-Anthony Turnage’s Greek (30^th anniversary production, London). He studied at Guildhall School of Music and Drama, New College, Oxford, and at the Jorma Panula Academy in Helsinki, and assisted at Glyndebourne, Bregenzer Festspiele, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Oper Stuttgart, the Adelaide Festival, the London Philharmonic Orchestra and Sinfonieorchester Basel, for conductors such as Vladimir Jurowski, Ivor Bolton and Donald Runnicles. His frequent collaborations with Klangforum Wien include the musical direction of 11,000 Strings by Georg Friedrich Haas – a monumental concert installation for 50 pianos and ensemble.
