The Polish tenor Tadeusz Szlenkier’s 2026/27 season brings several important debuts, including his first appearance at the Teatro Real in Madrid as Heinrich der Schreiber in Tannhäuser, as well as his role debuts as Otello at Teatr Wielki in Łódź and Bacchus in Ariadne auf Naxos at the Opéra de Dijon.

He also creates the role of Camp Principal in the world premiere of The Mothers of Kherson at the Polish National Opera, and appears as Cavaradossi in Tosca at the National Theatre Brno, Turiddu in Cavalleria rusticana and Canio in Pagliacci at Opera Nova in Bydgoszcz. His concert engagements include Mozart’s Requiem with the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra.

Recent highlights include his Deutsche Oper Berlin debut as Das Tier in Antikrist, Der Kaiser in Die Frau ohne Schatten and Don Alvaro in La forza del destino at the Polish National Opera, and the title roles in Parsifal and Lohengrin at the Staatstheater Nürnberg. Further recent engagements include Ctirad in Šárka at the Prague National Theatre, Cavaradossi in Tosca at the Ópera Nacional de Chile and Kraków Opera, Turiddu in Cavalleria rusticana and Canio in Pagliacci with the Opéra de Toulon, Opéra de Saint-Étienne and Opéra de Dijon, and Silvanus Schuller in Penderecki’s Die schwarze Maske with the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra.

His extensive repertoire also includes Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly, the Prince in Rusalka, Manrico in Il trovatore, the Italian Singer in Der Rosenkavalier, Don José in Carmen, the title role in Don Carlo, Gustavo in Un ballo in maschera, Leicester in Maria Stuarda, Jontek in Halka, the Shepherd in Szymanowski’s King Roger, Stefan in The Haunted Manor, Le Chevalier des Grieux in Manon, Ismaele in Nabucco, Sinodal in The Demon, and the Male Chorus in The Rape of Lucretia.
