Przemysław Neumann - NOSPR
Przemysław Neumann Conductor

Since 2024, General and Artistic Director of the Szczecin Philharmonic. He is a graduate of the Academy of Music in Poznań, where he studied symphonic and operatic conducting under Professor Jerzy Salwarowski and Professor Antoni Gref.
In 2002, he was awarded third prize at the 3rd Young Conductors’ Review in Białystok. As a conductor, he has led many of Poland’s leading orchestras, including the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra, the Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra, and the philharmonic orchestras in Poznań, Białystok, Koszalin, Gorzów Wielkopolski, Częstochowa, Lublin, Kraków, Szczecin, Katowice, Jelenia Góra and Kielce, as well as the Baltic Opera and the Toruń Symphony Orchestra. He has also conducted the International Lutosławski Youth Orchestra, both at the Krzysztof Penderecki European Centre for Music and during the ensemble’s debut at the Gewandhaus in Leipzig.
While still a student, he began his long-standing collaboration with the Musical Theatre in Poznań, where he served as conductor and orchestra manager until 2013. Over the course of nine artistic seasons, he prepared several premieres and conducted hundreds of performances and concerts. He has also collaborated with the Grand Theatre in Poznań and the Gliwice Musical Theatre.
After completing his doctoral degree in 2009, he joined the conducting faculty of the Academy of Music in Poznań, serving as head of the department in the 2019–2020 academic year. In 2017, he obtained his postdoctoral degree (habilitation) in musical arts, and in 2019 he was appointed university professor. His alma mater has remained an important space for his artistic and educational projects, including concerts with the Academic Symphony Orchestra (and a recording dedicated to the music of Karol Kurpiński), work with the Sinfonietta Orchestra (of which he was Artistic Director from 2009 to 2013), annual student opera productions at the Grand Theatre in Poznań, and concerts within the Kreaspiracje series.
In 2015, Przemysław Neumann was appointed Director of the Opole Philharmonic. This period marked the beginning of his intensive work on unjustly forgotten Polish music, resulting in the concert series Polish Music Rediscovered, devoted primarily to works composed during the partitions of Poland, as well as a recording series of the same name. Scores and orchestral materials for works by composers such as Karol Kurpiński, Witold Maliszewski, Feliks Nowowiejski and Zygmunt Noskowski were prepared in collaboration with the For Culture Foundation, established in 2016, of which he serves as President. As conductor of the Opole Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, he has also made a number of recordings dedicated to the works of Polish composers.
