The passionate and intense music of Motion Trio has been praised by contemporary masters such as Michael Nyman, Wojciech Kilar, Krzysztof Penderecki, Jerzy Maksymiuk, Bobby McFerrin, and Joe Zawinul.
Motion Trio's original repertoire comes from the compositions of the artists in the band, primarily the leader Janusz Wojtarowicz, as well as Paweł Baranek and Marcin Gałażyn. Founded over twenty-five years ago, the trio’s artistic journey has taken them from performing on the streets of Europe to the world’s greatest concert halls, including New York’s Carnegie Hall, the Barbican Centre in London, and the Vienna Konzerthaus.
A hallmark of the trio is their unique sound, achieved by maintaining the pure sound of the accordion: no processing, no additional instruments, no technical tricks. The artists rely solely on their excellent accordion playing skills, imagination, and talent.

The music of Motion Trio blends minimal music, jazz, rock, and folk, which Janusz Wojtarowicz defines as “motion music” – “music that seeks new sounds, new possibilities of playing the accordion, and a fresh perspective on this fascinating instrument, which has yet to be fully explored.”

Thirteen albums released so far by the trio have gained wide recognition, receiving praise and awards from both jazz and classical music critics.

Motion Trio has performed in forty-four countries across all continents. The band plays Pigini Sirius Millenium instruments, regarded as the best accordions in the world.
