Martyna Kosecka

Born in 1989 in Gdynia, composer, performer, conductor and researcher of contemporary music. She graduated in composition from the Academy of Music in Kraków (the class of Krzysztof Meyer) and in symphonic and opera conducting from the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice (the class of Szymon Bywalec). Since 2023, she has been working at the Academy of Music in Oslo, conducting an artistic doctoral project focused on the concept of mini-operas addressing the rights and freedoms of women in contemporary society.
Since 2019, her compositions have been published by Donemus Holland. Her works have been performed at numerous festivals and concerts both in Poland and abroad, including the International Festival of Contemporary Music “Warsaw Autumn”, AudioArt festival in Kraków, NeoArte – Synthesizer of Arts festival in Gdańsk, The rainy days Festival (Luxembourg), Ostrava Days, Tehran Contemporary Music Festival, Intonal Festival in Malmö, Impuls, Music Biennale Zagreb, Armel Opera Festival (Austria, Hungary), and Ultima Oslo, to name but a few.
In 2013, together with Iranian composer Idin Samimi Mofakham, she founded the Spectro Centre for New Music, which specialises in organising workshops and contemporary music concerts. Their intensive activities significantly contributed to the inauguration of the international Tehran Contemporary Music Festival. Additionally, the artists co-create the experimental ensemble Spectro Duo, drawing inspiration from drone sounds, glitch, noise, field recording transformations, microtonality, and non-European modal systems.
