Marcin Świątkiewicz - NOSPR

Marcin Świątkiewicz Piano

One of Poland’s most prominent harpsichordists and a recipient of the Polityka Passport Award (2015), he performs on a variety of historical keyboard instruments. As a soloist and conductor, he regularly collaborates with leading period-instrument ensembles, including Arte dei Suonatori, Brecon Baroque and Capella Cracoviensis. He devotes particular attention to improvisation. In 2015, he recorded a solo album of harpsichord concertos by J. G. Müthel for BIS, which received a Diapason d’Or. This was followed in 2017 by the multi-award-winning solo album Cromatica (CPO). His recording of J. S. Bach’s harpsichord concertos was released by Channel Classics in 2018, followed by the Goldberg Variations on Rubicon in 2020. He received a Gramophone Award for his recording of Biber’s Rosary Sonatas with Rachel Podger and David Miller. Equally at home in contemporary music, he also collaborates with symphony orchestras. In 2021, he took part in the premiere recording of Aleksander Nowak’s opera Drach. Dramma per musica, with a libretto by Szczepan Twardoch, alongside the AUKSO orchestra. He teaches harpsichord at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice.
