Gośka Isphording - NOSPR

A harpsichordist valued for her dedication to contemporary and experimental music. Based in the Netherlands, she actively brings Polish works to audiences around the world. Her work is marked by a genuine commitment to expanding the harpsichord repertoire, as she collaborates closely with composers to explore and extend the sound range of her instrument.

Nearly two hundred solo and chamber works have been written for her, including five concertos by Hanna Kulenty, Roderik de Man, Andrzej Kwieciński, Grażyna Pstrokońska-Nawratil, and Evan Johnson. As a soloist, she has appeared at major contemporary music festivals – the Warsaw Autumn, the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, the Holland Festival, the Music Biennale Zagreb, Gaudeamus Muziekweek, November Music, and the Ruhrtriennale.

Between 2011 and 2015, she served as the Artistic Director of the Prix Annelie de Man – an international festival and competition for harpsichordists and composers held in Amsterdam. She collaborates with such ensembles as Asko|Schönberg (now Het Muziek), United Instruments of Lucilin, and Insomnio Ensemble. She is also a member of the London-based group The Riot Ensemble. Having previously studied under Elżbieta Chojnacka and Annelie de Man, she now holds a doctoral degree in the arts and teaches contemporary harpsichord techniques at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.

Thanks to her artistic vision and commitment to creating new repertoire, she keeps redefining the role of the harpsichord in the twenty-first century, demonstrating its versatility and its potential in new artistic contexts.
