Dramatic baritone Lester Lynch is an artist praised for his powerful voice and compelling characters in a long list of diverse projects. He has performed at Teatro alla Scala, Covent Garden, San Francisco Opera, Festspielhaus Bregenz, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Semperoper Dresden, Deutsche Oper Berlin and Seattle Opera, to list a few. He has appeared with the world’s finest orchestras: Berliner Philharmoniker, New York Philharmonic, National Symphony Orchestra, Cleveland Orchestra, American Symphony Orchestra, and the Houston Symphony Orchestra among many others. Lynch has worked with many conductors, notably Simon Rattle, Andrew Davis, Plácido Domingo, Ulf Schirmer, and Edward Gardner. A champion of living composers he has sung roles in Gordon Getty's PlumpJack and his celebrated cantata, Joan and the Bells. His debut solo album was released in 2017, On My Journey Now, a collection of hymns and spirituals, was released to much acclaim. Other recordings include Cavalleria rusticana as Alfio, Iago in Otello, Il tabarro as Michele, Jack Rance in La fanciulla del West and Sharpless in Madame Butterfly.
