Jan Żądło - NOSPR

He earned his Master’s and doctoral degrees from the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice. He also studied at the Opera Academy of the Grand Theater National Opera in Warsaw and at the Opera Studio in Lyon. Laureate of vocal competitions: 2nd prize at the Karol Szymanowski International Music Competition (2023), 2nd prize at the Otto Edelmann Singing Competition in Vienna and 2nd prize at the Giuseppe Di Stefano International Opera Competition in Trapani. He has also received an award for the best performance of a song by Mieczysław Weinberg at the Stanisław Moniuszko International Vocal Competition (2019). 

He debuted in the titular role in Don Giovanni at the Silesian Opera in Bytom, directed by Wiesław Ochman. In the 2022/2023 season, he performed in the German premiere of Lorin Maazel’s 1984 opera at the Regensburg Theater, as Winston. 

In preceding seasons, he performed as: Méphistophélèsin Berlioz’ La damnation de Faust in Cluj-Napoca, Papagenoin Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte at the Grand Theatre in Poznań, Figaroin the same composer’s Le nozze di Figaro at Warsaw’s Chamber Opera, Dancairoin Bizet’s Carmen at the Polish National Opera, Rodolfo Ghioldiand one of the Cantadoresin Antunes’ Olga at the Baltic Opera in Gdańsk, Il re, Un boscaiolo and L'ambasciatorein Respighi’s La bella dormente nel bosco at the Lyon Opera, Donnerin DasRheingold with the Polish Radio Orchestra, Messenger in Stravinsky’s Oedipus Rex with the Polish National Radio Orchestra, as well as Fifth Judge in Korngold’s Das Wunder der Heliane at Konzerthaus Freiburg (recording for Naxos).
